Virtual Classroom Your digital Super Power - Using the 4Rs to create positive online communities (3966)


This Safer Internet Day presentation encourages students to recognise the personal and social capabilities that are important for creating positive online environments. Students will explore skills including communicating with respect; developing resilience; using reasoning; and choosing to act responsibly. The presentation is designed to empower students to draw on these key strengths to help combat serious online issues such as cyberbullying and misinformation. At the end of the session, students will make a pledge to use their personal strengths to create a better internet not only today, but every day. This presentation will address Australian Curriculum Health and Physical Education outcomes including: • Examine how identities are influenced by people and places (ACPPS051) • Practise skills to establish and manage relationships (ACPPS055) • Recognise how media and important people in the community influence personal attitudes, beliefs, decisions and behaviours (ACPPS057) And address elements of the Personal and Social General Capability including: • Recognising personal qualities and achievements • Understanding relationships • Expressing emotions appropriately
